- The project includes sliding tables, irrigation, LED lighting, dehumidification, double air chamber, screens, cooling system, climate control, recirculators and positive pressure system
J. Huete Greenhouses will build the first semi-closed plastic greenhouse in Colombia. The project will be completed during the last semester of 2024 and that includes high-tech equipment to guarantee the optimal development of crops, avoiding the appearance of pests through a positive pressure system.
Traditionally, the semi-closed greenhouse model has been designed and built with glass. But for a few years now, greenhouse manufacturers such as J. Huete Greenhouses have been developing this system for plastic installations due to its extensive benefits for farmers.
Specifically, this semi-enclosed plastic greenhouse, designed by the company at its Spanish headquarters, will be installed in Colombia during the latter part of 2024. This cutting-edge greenhouse will be equipped with the latest technologies to guarantee an optimal environment for cultivation. of plants.
Among its notable features is an overpressure system that ensures airtightness and prevention of unwanted intrusions. Another of the key pieces of this greenhouse are the sliding growing benches, which allow flexible distribution of the plants and facilitate access for care and harvesting.
Furthermore, the integrated and automated irrigation system ensures a constant and precise supply of water, essential for healthy crop growth. LED lighting also provides an efficient and customizable light source, which promotes optimal plant development at all stages of growth.
To control the internal environment, the greenhouse will have advanced dehumidification systems, thermal and shading screens, as well as cooling mechanisms to regulate the temperature and avoid the heat of Colombia, especially in summer. All of this is complemented by a recirculator system that guarantees uniform air distribution and optimal circulation of nutrients.
With this innovative and pioneering project in Colombia, J. Huete Greenhouses reaffirms its commitment to excellence in protected agriculture, offering farmers the necessary tools to maximize the productivity and quality of their crops.
